HOW does Jesus enjoy us? He starts by not implicating us (John 5:45). We have NO condemnation (Rom 8:1) if we are in him. The number of times are we informed NOT to judge? Jesus accepts us as we are– regardless of just how negative we are. Jesus does not demand that we ‘tidy up our act’ before he enjoys us. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. And we are still sinners, made exemplary by the blood of Jesus.
Most of us demand to alter! None people is excellent … “No, not one.” Just ask somebody close to you if you question whether you need to change or not. All of us need to transform! It is not needs, expectancies or stricture that alters us. God’s love adjustments us– by NOT enforcing demands and also expectations upon us!
We feel he is demanding and vital if we don’t experience God’s love as well as approval. Too often we obey a sort of ‘reverse principle’– we do unto others as we view God does it unto us. We feel he is requiring if we do not recognize his love. We are requiring if we feel HE is requiring. Isn’t it real that “Children live what they learn”?
